About the Authors
Anneliesa Yost
Annie Yost was born in Boise, Idaho in 2006. Annie enjoys running, reading, writing, weightlifting, and playing the viola. She is currently working on writing a novel in the thriller and mystery genres. She finds clarity in her life while writing. Something she enjoys learning about that most people don’t know, is biology in all kinds. She also enjoys constantly learning new things. An unpopular opinion that she has, is that she does not enjoy listening to Taylor Swift’s new music and prefers her older music. An aspiration that she has is to be in the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra at some point.
Ashlynn Mahoney
Ashlynn was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, and has a multitude of hobbies she partially learns and inevitably gives up on three weeks later. Some hobbies that have stuck around despite this are painting, drawing, and reading. The genres she enjoys reading the most are fantasy, sci-fi, and fiction, especially if there are dragons. She wishes to continue her education by working with literature and finding new books to read any chance she gets.
AUSTIN HOLTON
Austin Holton is a current student at the College of Western Idaho studying English with a focus on literary analysis. While mainly focused on literary analysis, Austin also enjoys creative writing. In his free time, he writes short stories and poetry. Outside of reading and writing, Austin enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and jiu-jitsu.
Brooke Brown
Brooke Brown is currently a student at the College of Western Idaho, studying English with a focus on creative writing. She is writing a thriller novel she plans to publish next year. Other than writing, she also enjoys reading, video gaming, and researching genealogy in her free time.
DARIN NEURBERGER
Darin Neuberger is a creative writer with an off-and-on infatuation with poker. When not watching South Park, Mike Tyson Mysteries, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, he enjoys listening to Miles Davis, MF DOOM, Run the Jewels, and Death Grips. Some books he cannot get away from are Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves, Junji Ito’s Uzumaki, and Charles Baudelaire’s The Flowers of Evil.
Erika Plascencia
Erika is the daughter of immigrant parents who migrated from Jalisco, Mexico, and moved to the United States. She was born in California, West Covina in a family of six. Erika is a movie enthusiast, especially in the horror and foreign genres. She finds her strength from her only child, Rini, an 8-month-old kitty, may she ride on in her success.
ERIN NELSON
Erin Nelson is currently a student at the College of Western Idaho where she studies English, she plans to continue her education and pursue an MFA at Eastern Oregon University. Her analysis often focuses on the human condition, generational trauma, and mental health. Erin is inspired by transcendentalism, postmodernism, and the Byronic hero. Outside of academics, she loves to garden, paint, and hike.
Ken Hissong
Ken is currently studying English and education at the College of Western Idaho. When he graduates he plans to teach literature at the secondary level. Ken enjoys the outdoors, playing guitar, and anything to do with the written word. He also hopes that he has one great novel in him, or at least a short story that makes people scratch their heads and rethink their lives a little bit. He would even settle for a superb quote that gets misattributed to others online.
