About the Authors

Alyssa Philpott

Alyssa Philpott was born and raised in Southeastern Idaho. As a teenager, she became deeply fascinated by poetry and short stories. As time went on she became engulfed in psychological thrillers as well as other genres. She can usually be found listening to an audiobook or zoned into her Kindle. Her daughter plays a huge role in being the inspiration that drives her to her passion for reading and writing. In 2023, she returned to college to expound her knowledge of writing in hopes of one day seeing her name on the ‘New York Bestsellers’ list.

Anita Novak-Tihor

Anita Novak-Tihor was born and raised in Hungary and has been writing ever since she read her first series The Dragon Lance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickmann. Her fascination with fiction, mainly fantasy, soon spiraled into a fascination with paranormal and psychological thrillers, cryptids, horror, and genre-bending stories. Her first published book titled What Eats Us Alive (2019) taught her a lot about her shortcomings as a writer in English. She moved to Idaho in 2021 and started her studies at the College of Western Idaho as an English Major with an emphasis on Creative Writing in 2022 and happily dived into her studies with a particular interest in the sublime, A.E. Poe’s gothic, – Lovecraftian cosmic horror and the psychological toll on the human mind.

Bianca Fairchild

Bianca Fairchild is an English Teaching major at the College of Western Idaho who will transfer to Boise State University to receive her Bachelor’s degree. Her goal is to eventually become an English Teacher or Professor. She has always felt a passion for literature, writing, and teaching, even going as far as writing her own novels as a child and playing “teacher” constantly. Due to this enthusiasm, she hopes to pass on that love for the written word to as many people as she can.

Danielle Marcham

Danielle Marcham is an English Literature major at the College of Western Idaho. She has been a bookworm and writer since she started learning the alphabet at a young age. Adopted into a large family who are always adventure-seeking, she has learned the value of relationships as well as the importance of education. She plans on graduating with your high school and AA degree by this spring and then continue her education journey at Northwest Nazarene University. She hopes to one day have a job as a history or English teacher.

Mercy Hill-Mariscal

Mercy Hill-Mariscal is an English Major at the College of Western Idaho. She has been writing stories since she was nine years old, always having a fascination with the magical or creepy unknown. Being disabled from the age of two, Mercy grew up using a wheelchair, living in a low-income city and experiencing intense heartaches both inside the home and out. She believes that these life experiences are what make her a good writer, using imagination and a bit of knowledge, she feels like she can never tell the same story twice.
