The Classical World

The Classical World consists of Ancient Greece, the Etruscans and Romans and the Early Christian Period through the era of Constantine.  These cultures were not isolated from the rest of the Mediterranean, North Africa or Western Europe – the relations between cultures were complex and often effected the art and architecture.  The following “Tiny Timeline” from Smarthistory gives you a sense of the parallel cultures in the region – this timeline covers the Greek Archaic Period, comparable timelines could be make from other periods.
