Weekly Discussion Prompts

The course that will be loaded into your CWI 101 Blackboard shell will be a fully built Q course designed for your Pathways theme, with input from faculty and department chairs in those programs. You will be provided with a checklist to help you complete required tasks and make modifications based on your course modality. If you wish to make modifications, there are a few places you can do that, or you may opt to run the class as it is.

One thing to keep in mind is that none of your individual modifications will be rolled over from semester to semester. The Q course as maintained by the CWI 101 coordinator will be rolled out each semester, so keep your modifications as straightforward as possible so that it doesn’t become an unsustainable task to recreate those each semester.

The items that you can modify are the two items titled “Pathways Lesson and Discussion” that are present in each weekly module. These are built in the Q course as instructional materials and an associated discussion board, and one of those will be replaced with the class session in hybrid sections. These prebuilt items pertain to your Pathways theme, but you may make changes to these materials and discussions if you would like.

All other items, including the Pathways journal, culminating assignment, badges, and OER textbook, must remain as they are built in the Q course. The order and organization of the course should also remain consistent.
